I am having a terrible time deciding on a motherboard. Looking at several in the 150-175 range. I have some new parts and some old ones here; new in Bold

Intel i7 4770k
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo (probably the cooler im going with)
8GB GSkill Trident 2400 CL10
Sapphire 7870 XT 2GB OC
Corsair 750HX
Creative Soundblaster X-FI Titanium
Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB SSD (boot)
WD Black 2 TB (storage)
Antec 1200
Windows 7 Pro 64
Monitors: 24" 1080p x2, 21.5" 1080p

I'm into gaming and I also use this as my computer when i work from home using Microstation and Civil3d. I am also looking for the best on board sound as I really enjoy listening to music and really want it to sound nice. Is the onboard sound on these new motherboards better than my old sound card?

I am between several motherboards:
Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87

MSI GD65

MSI GD45

ASRock Extreme6

ASRock Extreme4

I do plan on overclocking, but I'm not that intense about it. I really just want to know if I need to spend extra on the GD65 or Extreme6 vs the GD45 and Extreme4 and then decide on which is best.

Thanks

I've hear good things about the asus, but it's a little above what I'd like to spend. I was trying to find something a little closer to that 150 mark.

As far as the graphics card, I've done a few tests on the cards we have at work and it seems Civil 3d is actually more cpu intensive. All the stuff I was doing was barely flinching the graphics card but loading up the cpu. Also doesn't help that civil 3d is single threaded

civil3d in that case will run best on an intel core i7 like you chose, a lot of industry standard software needs to be re written to support multiple cores in my opinion (which im sure is a nightmare to do so optimally). Using graphic cards to render and show previews needs to be included in more programs too (this is the future baby!). Good luck to you bro
