So i've had an I mac for about 4 years now and it's time for a massive change of pace, I'd like to know if this system will overclock, make games look gorgeous and i'd also like to know if you'd change anything.

This system might not be the best but it'll be a huge improvement over the comp i have right now.

I'm ordering everything from PC Case Gear

Here's the specs:

Case: Bitfenix prodigy with mesh front panel

Motherboard: ASUS Z87I-PRO

CPU: i5 4670k

RAM: G.Skill Sniper F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR2 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3

CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO

Graphics Card: MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming 3GB BF4 Bundle

Storage: Western Digital WD Blue 1TB WD10EZEX

PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 620W Power Supply HCG-620

Monitor: ASUS VX238H 23in Widescreen LED Monitor

Additional cooling: 1x Bitfenix spectre 230mm in the front.

That's just about all.

Grand Total: $1506 AUD

Can i max out games such as: Battlefield 4, Far Cry 3, Planetside 2?

Help is much appreciated.

this is going to be a BEAST man, woooeeee. Why do you want low voltage RAM though? i think that money would be better spent on 1866Mhz or 2133 Mhz 1.5v RAM, the 9-9-9-24 or lower timing is great. the last thing this monster is missing is a 32 or 64GB SSD for the OS and most important programs. Just a boot drive, and then you can have that other drive for storage of games etc.

everything looks good, but just make sure you have enough clearance in that case for that gfx. if your budgets allows it you should certainly look into an ssd. maybe a small one, but they are certainly worth it, the difference is night and day.

Your RAM will be fine. DDR3-1600 at CAS 9 will run just as speedily as DDR3-1866 at CAS 11.

With Apple products, you pay for the brand name. I personally detest Apple for their insane pricing and the way they lock down their OS so that you can't tamper with it.

There is one main thing that i hate Apple for.

They take away the satisfaction of taking the time and care to find the perfect parts for the build you want.

And they charge a butt ton of money for a computer that would have been 3 years out dated when i got it.
