UPDATE:
Would like advice on this build. First step into a real "home / Pro system". Used to building for 3D CAD, (PTC, NX, GeoMagic), getting heavily into CS6, (Photoshop and Premiere), for hobby / soon to leave the rat race. Budget $2400. Here is the link from pcpartpicker:

4770K
H100i Cooled
Asus MVI Formula (like the Wi-Fi, BT, Sound & BIOS GUI)
EVGA 770 4 GB 3778 (Classified version)
GSkill Ripjaws X 1600 4X8GB (total=32GB)
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB - OS
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB -Programs/Scratch/Work/Cache
Western Digital Black 1TB - files
CM HAF XM Case
Corsair AX860W Fully Modular
LG BD R/W WH16NS40
Win 8.1 (taking the hit)

Advice - feedback - don't be gentle. I have only built systems for high end CAD and the last was 5 yrs ago. It is hard to go with a gaming card, but for price/perf it seems worth it, as with the 4770K.

I woul;d not bother with the water cooler unless you intend to hit extreme overclocks . Instead a nice quiet downdraft Noctua or Scythe is all you are ever going to need and will be quieter to boot .

Not sure why you would have a separate SSD for the OS and programs . Just creating separate partitions would achieve the same thing .

If you are not gaming then dont use a gaming card . Use a card suited to content creation . A quaddro or Firepro .

Even with a GTX 770 you would only need a 600 watt psu . And thats even if you filled the rest of the available slots with hard drives , fans etc etc

Definitely appreciate the advice. Here is my reasoning, (though I will be taking all information/feedback to improve my build). Thinking overclocking would be good for CS6 effects, not to mention the old side of me just likes to eek out performance. Not using CAD on this machine, mainly CS6 apps, (possible gaming), and I have a hard time taking the $$ hit of the high-end GPU's. I have seen improved productivity with the separate SSD's for OS/Work/Files. Can you point me to any info that shows performance comparisons on this? Appreciate the input.

Good call. I hadn't dug that deep.

I dont particularly have any data on performance with the separate SSD's .

But intuitively it shouldnt improve performance . The OS files will be loaded in RAM so it wont make any difference where the OS is looking for programs/data . It wont ever be doing both at the same time so two hard drives through two SATA controllers should make no difference .

Id be very happy to be proved wrong . I might even buy another SSD myself !

On the multi disc scenario, (SSD-OS; SSD-Scratch/Work; HDD-Storage), this is from Adobe. Some users have stated adding an additional, tertiary SSD just for working on current projects increases efficiency even further, I will wait and see on that. And when I want to fork out another 2 bills. Here is what Adobe says:
http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/products/creativesuite/production/cs6/pdfs/adobe-hardware-performance-whitepaper.pdf

Interesting link

But they definitely do not suggest OS on one drive and programs on another .

They suggest two data drives . One which is the source of the file you work on and the second that you are outputting too . That potentially means the same SATA connector is not uploading and downloading to the same hard drive .
Bottom of page 3

To set that up you would use an SSD for windows and installed programs and add two [ or more] mechanical drives for data

Good stuff, I was watching this when you replied: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czQ9ywtY9Qw I have always been an NVIDIA fan, for PS CS6 the 770 fairs pretty well with the 4770k. I appreciate the help, throw anything else you see at me, I want to get a lot out of this build.

Hi Outlander, thought you might be interested in reading this about multiple disc setups for video editing: http://ppbm7.com/index.php/tweakers-page/84-disk-setup/95-disk-setup
