Need help with first time build

Okay I just put together my first PC. I connected everything that needed connection.

My build:
I5 4670k
MSI Z87-G43 mobo
Thermal take TR2 600W
8GB RAM

I couldn't get the GPU today but decided to power it on and the only thing that happened was the case fan and GPU fan turned on for 2-3 seconds then turned off. I tried it twice and same thing.

On the mobo I noticed a JPWR2 connector. Do I also need to connect that one? I connected the 20+ pin JPWR1. Please help I am tripping out.

you need to plug in the eight pin power block that on the top right of the board with the eight pin power plug not the six plus two cables.

in the bios look for dram speed. set it to xmp profile one so your ram running at 1600 speed. under the onboard sata port check that there set to achi mode not raid or ide. under the boot menu make the first boot device the cd-rom then reboot if the bios is set right you get a message hit any key to boot from cd-rom if you dont there also a f key to hit to change the boot order at power up.
