i/o ports not working. Please help.

My build includes the following:
CPU: Phenom ii X4 965 Black edition
GPU: MSI Radeon 7950 OC
PSU:Corsair CX 750
Mobo: MSI 970a-g43
Case: CM Storm Enforcer

This is my first build that I've started making to join the PC master race. Everything in the computer is plugged in correctly (The 20 pin and the 6 pin are plugged into their spots). Everything in the machine lights up perfectly and the fans are blowing. Except, the i/o ports on the motherboard will not work. Because of this, I can't use my HDMI and DVI cables or my Keyboard and mouse. I've been saving up for this build forever, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you mean it doesn't boot?

Do you have any RAM as you don't list any RAM?

Booting system wise, yes.

I do have RAM (a 4GB stick and 3 1GB sticks).

I would try 1 stick of RAM at a time mixing the slot used.

I've done that, and it still doesn't give me a display.

Have you tried without the GPU?
If that doesn't work it looks like the motherboard is dead.

Yep, the entire computer is dead. All hope is lost.

...Except that it isn't and I fixed it! I had the wrong display adapter going into my computer and the RAM wasn't put in correctly. So, all is good.

Help. my back I/o ports are not working. I have msi 970 gaming am3+ motherboard. mouse,keyboard, headset, ethernet is not working. tried to fix i/o shield because I thought that is the problem but still i/o ports not working. I have no displays on my monitor but nothing happened and also replace memory sticks nothing happened. everything is working except the back I/o ports anyone have solutions?

I am having the same problem as him however my motherboard is MSI Z170A M5, my graphics card is GTX1070. My motherboard lights up, and so does my graphics card but the keyboard, mouse, and monitor don't turn on or light up. There is no beeping sound when i turn on my computer.
SPECS:
CPU: Intel i5
GPU: EVEGA GTX 1070
RAM: 16 GB EVEGA 3200
PSU: Corsiar CX 600
MOBO: MSI Z170A M5

I Just replaced these new graphics card and motherboard with my old EVEGA GTX 960, msi B75MA-P45. My computer will turn on and my monitor, keyboard, and mouse all work when i use these.
