Hi, my computer's specs are:

Cpu: Fx-4100
Gpu: gtx 760
Motherboard: gigabyte ds3 am3+ socket
8GB RAm

I'm wondering if my system is bottlenecking my new gpu. My friend that I play games with has much worse graphics card and similar specs but gets same or better fps on games on his than mine. If it is what need to be changed?

Hey hey see even you have a worst cpu and a worst gpu at very poorly low settings you get better fps on games... His game's graphics quality is very poor than yours remember you cannot get worse gaming experience in a GTX 760..! It is a good graphics card...

You are just fine Charlie... And you have a nice system... You do not need to worry :)  Happy gaming

Hi, yes I think you're experiencing a CPU bottleneck. The 4100 you have is bulldozer architecture and has poorer performance than the old Phenom chips it was intended to replace.

Is this your motherboard?: http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4...
Could you tell me which revision it is?

Anyway, upgrading to an FX 6300/8320/8350 should fix any FPS issues you're having. Also which games is this occurring in, or is it all of them?

Ok, as I said, upgrade to an FX 6300 and it should be fine. :)  You may be required to do a BIOS update though.
