I have a Intel E5300 @ 3.7ghz and am planning to do some gaming - have a GTX570 superclocked coming tomorrow and am wondering - how bad are my frame rates gonna be with this cpu. I'm assuming they're going to hold the FPS back quite a bit but hopefully not enough to make it unplayable.. any input? Cheers

Your CPU obviously isn't as good as your GPU but I don't think that it would hold back a lot of FPS

If your playing some newer games that really use Quad Cores (Such as BF4 and Crysis 3) you may lose some FPS. I doubt its going to be horrible.
And Im sure a slightly "Bottlenecked" GTX 570 is better than what you had previously.

But hey, Should you upgrade your platform, you'll "Unlock" any remaining performance =D

that's a big bottleneck, no more than 260x is recommended
