Finally received all my parts and put my new pc together but have been having issues getting the video to display. All the parts are new and plugged in correctly. PC powers up fine, motherboard has a green light, graphics card, cpu, and case fans all come on and work fine, just no display. If I turn my monitor on and off it will display no signal check cable or monitor going to sleep. Monitor is connected to the graphics card through an adapter.

Asus M5A97 R2,0
Nvidia GTX 650 Ti 2GB
PNY 2x4 8GB ram
Thermaltake TR2 600W Power Supply

Another thing I noticed is that when originally connecting everything and powering up the pc I was able to shut it off by holding the power button. Now I can still turn the pc on with the button but holding it down to turn it off does nothing and it has to be shutdown by turning the power supply off.

The monitor worked fine on my old pc earlier today, replaced the new graphics card with the one from my old pc and connected without an adapter and still had no display. Even tried assembling everything outside of the tower and still couldn't get the display working.

I've been having this problem today too. But, I've noticed that it's not just the display not working, It's also the entire I/O panel's ports. So, check if everything in the I/O panel is working properly before doing anything else.

Just tried plugging in my keyboard and mouse (both light up) and got nothing out of either one of them

Hmmm... Well, I have nothing for you. I'm stumped too. Read over this post and make sure you've done everything it says: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems

I find it strange that your mouse would light up but not work. How would you even test that it doesn't work if you have no display? Typo, maybe?

What I meant was both the keyboard and mouse have green led lights that make them light up, when the PC is powered on they should both have lit up but failed to do so. The only thing I can think of would be a bad motherboard but considering it's brand new it would be unlikely.

Before immediately deeming that it's the motherboard's fault, I would suggest going to see a local PC expert and see if they can do anything. There are people like geek squad and PC doctor that will check your hardware and fix it for free. They will tell you everything that's wrong with your PC, but will charge you money if they have to put anything in place to make it work. This would probably be the best option, seeing as how there aren't many clear solutions to this problem.

Sorry that I couldn't help. :(

Yeah I'll probably take it in tomorrow and see what's going on...any clue as to why the power button would start the PC but not shut it off by holding it? Worked fine the initial few times

Tried going through hdmi into my tv and still no signal after clearing cmos

Turns out i was right by thinking it was a bad motherboard. Returned the Asus and swapped it out for an Asrock and everything booted up fine. Monitor works, keyboard, mouse, etc. Even fixed the power button turning on but not off problem.
