Can I use Logitech G430's 7.1 with a 5.1 sound card ?

I am looking to get this headset as I am a new pc gamer and my Turtle beach x12 headset is broken. I am hesitant to get this headset because it is 7.1 surround sound but I only have a 5.1 sound card and I am not sure if it will work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You dont need to worry about the compatible of your sound card and the headset because it has its own sound card built into it. You just need to plug it into your pc and install the driver then let it do its job.
You just gonna need a USB 2.0/3.0 port
