Hi, so after asking once about a CPU i have another question that could solve a few issues. so long story short i had to get a new hard drive and i didn't build the PC myself, at the same time i got a nvdia Gpu (gtx 660) and put it in along with the new hard drive. My old card was a radeon 7770 and as i no longer had a Amd gpu i didn't re install catalyst. However i do have a AMD CPU do i still need catalyst because ever since i got my new Gpu i haven't really seen a performance increase and my cpu hits 100 percent on bf4 and i get huge lag on ghosts and its just not playible. p.s is there anything i need to do in my bios ?My specs are
Fx 6100 Cpy
Gtx 660 Gpu
m587l-m usb3 mobo
I Hope someone can help me as this is really bugging me now as yo why my performance is so bad, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
As long as you have 2 matching sticks it's fine. You need matching ones for them to run in dual channel mode. Even if your ram runs at 1333Mhz and you upgraded to 1866Mhz you would only probably see 1 frame per second difference.
The only time faster ram is helpful to most users is for when they use an APU with built in graphics.

I personally haven't had any issues playing any games with my AMD FX8320 overclocked to 4Ghz.

Have you thought about overclocking your CPU?
It is very easy to do on unlocked processors.

You could also start a thread about upgrading your AMD FX6100 to an AMD FX8320. Your motherboard would support an 8 core CPU.
I'm sure you will get lots of peoples opinions. Make sure to explain your problems.
You could even...

@jay Yes i have a Xigmatech one, but what difference will it make, surely as its still just a aftermarket fan i wont be able to Oc it that much oh and i forgot to mention 10-15 fps on bf4 on low. Explosions destroy me to 1 fps.

Your FPS is very low. I don't think an overclock would fix it.
We need to start ruling out other possibilities.
Can you list your full system specifications please including PSU and operating system?
Did you run a driver cleaner through to get rid of the AMD drivers?

Right first we will check a few things.
Do you know about cool and quiet on the AMD CPU's?
Can you check that the CPU isn't locked on a low power setting?
AMD overdrive software will let you check in real time the CPU speed.
It will also show the temperatures of your CPU cores.

Can you check these things and report back? I'll check for a reply in a little while.

Also did you install your motherboard chipset drivers when you installed windows on your new hard drive?

How do i check what it is locked on ? Cool and quiet, never heard of it. Amd overdrive, i shal try get it and then have a little look.

Battlefield 4 is very CPU dependandt. The single player is not so it should run better.

Cool and quiet adjust the CPU frequency from about 1.3Ghz up to it's full speed depending on what power is needed or what power profile you have your machine set at.
If you are using the wrong profile your CPU might not be reaching full speed and it would not perform properly.

Read this to learn about power profiles

Ok so somehow the issue has improved, im now getting 90 fps on low ( and bad lagg spikes occasionaly down to 20 - 30) still im noticing bad spikes, explosions have less of a effect and ingame every core is maxed if not close to maxed out
Edit, for got to add this is a 48 man conquest bf4

Unfortunately Call Of Duty Ghosts is supposed to not run that well.
You might want to read a performance review
http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/call_od_duty_vga_graphics_performance_benchmark,6.html

It seems a lot of game companies are releasing unfinished games and relying on patches later on to fix any potential issues. In fact Electronic Arts who make Battlefield 4 are being sued by their own share holders for that exact thing.
http://www.guru3d.com/news_story/shareholders_sue_over_battlefield_4_glitches.html

Hopefully these games will improve over time with patches.

As for Battlefield 4 it seems you need 8gb of ram. How much do you have?
It also seems a lot of the performance issues are sorted out when you use Windows 8.1

To be on the safe side can you run a malware and anti virus scan? It would rule out anything nasty causing the problems

All ready used my malwarebites trial as i did get something but it seemed to got rid of it, idk if u can get it again. I have 8 gb and i don't know a thing about ram, infact if u told me some good ram to use i would probably replace my current 2 sticks of 4 that i don't even know the name of. I was advised by another member to upgrade but i didn't know if a new cpu would be my answer however it is something i am willing to do but i want to be sure it wil help my issues before i do. However i havent ever looked into a new os and im not really sure if i want to upgrade because im not to sure about game's it supports or has that been improved?

Call it something like (Anyone playing BF4 on a FX6100?). That way you would find out what performance other people are getting.

I also haven't had any problems running games on Windows 8.

It's no problem:D
If you have any other questions just post them here and i will get an update telling me you have.
You won't need a water cooler to overclock an AMD FX8320 to 4Ghz.
I use the Coolermaster Hyper Evo 212 and it doesn't go over 50 degrees when i am gaming.
