Hello, today I got my new ASUS Radeon 7990 and after installing it I have run into a few issues.

Specs:
Intel Core i7 2600k @ 3.4Ghz
ASUS RADEON 7990
12GB Ram
Corsair T850M PSU

When playing games the card becomes loud almost instantly and reaches temperatures of 95 degrees Celsius, now my case isn't the largest and I am going to get a new one. My main question, is it safe for it to run this hot?

My second point being the low fps. Playing Arma III i get between 30-40 fps, dayz standalone 4-60 fps. The only game I have played so far at high fps is battlefield 4. I ran BF4 at ultra settings at 120-140 fps.

Is this the games not optimising my card? Or is it an issue.

I can safely say that the either the drivers from AMD or the Games' coding algorithm are not configured out yet for the 7990. This means that the game is only able to take benefit from one of the chips on the 7990. This is a common problem in Dual, Tri or Quad Configs and you can't do anything about it. By the information you had given me, I can safely say the card is underperforming on Arma 3 and DayZ and is performing fine of Bf4. This is completely normal.

As for the heat, This is quite not beyond the boundaries for dual cards like that. Perhaps improving the case airflow will help but it will not help the temperature to drop onto the 70-80C range. I could say replacing the case ASAP, add necessary fans and re-tidy the cabling is the best option and always hope for the best.

Thanks for the reply, so why is it normal for the card to under perform on DayZ / Arma3? Are they just not optimized?

I should also add that I am getting lower fps now on DayZ than I was with my old gpu (Radeon 69502gb)

6950 2GB Dayz = 50-70 FPS
7990 Dayz = 35-60 FPS

Yeah it is not well optimized for dual-chip cards like the 7990. But if the 6950 outperform the 7990, I don't think it's right. I recommend you to clean install your driver to the latest version, setting up a fan curve (if that's possible) and play with the driver performance settings a bit. It should help.

Looking back I don't think it really does run better on the 6950. I guess DayZ will be optimised more over time right? And how many games are supported by crossfire, if not a lot I may change the card.
