boot your pc into safe mode f8. go to programs add/remove..scroll down to nvidia software and click remove. then turn your pc off and unplug it from the wall. get a cup of hot coco and let the mb drain of power for safety. (you dont want to zap you mb). to pull the other gpu out press on the gpu release clip and pull up after you unplug the power cables from the gpu. take the new video card and push it into the slot in till it clicks. then plug the power cables back in if needed on the new gpu. before you put the case on plug the monitor in and see if the pc will post with the new gpu. if you get into windows fine with no errors just turn the pc off and put the cover on and put the pc back together. if the pc wont show the splash screen with the new gpu in. from the gpu or onboard video port. you may have to update the bios on your motherboard.

start computer as normal-- got to add/remove prograsms--- uninstall all your old cards drivers and add on progrems for the card--- shut down and then reboot back to desktop normaly [ i dont like to do safemode here cause it my hide an issue ] and it should be running on the windows defualt driver to check-- go to device manager-display- right click your card - propertys - driver - and see that driver provider is microsoft- if so shut down and turn off psu switch unplug it wait a min or so push the power button like you normanly do to start the computer to see if its discharged-- [if the computer comes on for like a second or two and dies it now discharged] then remove your old card and install the new card as proper install instructions show for your new card-- when you got everything in order and installed correctly [monitor and all] put power back to the psu turn on switch start up computer nornaly and let it boot to desktop and it should be running on windows defualt drivers if it looks good with no issues install your new cards drivers and and reboot as prompted. and hopefuly all will be good to go.
