USB 3.0/2.0 memory stick only works in USB 2.0 ports

I have a USB 2.0/3.0 Kingston memory stick. However, when I plug it in to any of my USB 3.0 ports nothing happens, it only works when I plug it in to a 2.0 port. I have another USB drive that is only 2.0 and it works in all ports. Any ideas?
