I am currently using a system that over heats and I can guarantee you that it is the graphics card in this system, because simply..It doesnt have a fan..It has nothing to cool it and That is causing my system to over heat so I need to ask about upgrading it, but I am worried if I get a specific card it wont run at all cause of bottlenecking or It just wont turn on or anything!

My specs are here:

Processor: Intel core 2 quad core CPU running at 2.40 GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR2 (I know I may need to update motherboard too)
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 9600GT
Motherboard: MSI MS-7392

Everything else I can find out at a later date if needed, But I know that the motherboard is still a good board, Everything here can play games with no problems, I play some of the most modern games on this system, I just feel that the overheating problem I need to solve and the graphics card will definitely need improving. I hope someone replies soon.

What PSU do you currently have? (Manufacturer/model/wattage)

Overclockers have a great deal going on a 7850 OC Windforce 2x 2GB:

This will definitely be adequate for gaming at 1080P at high settings. It all depends on your requirements (resolution, energy requirements). Although for £89.99, the 7850 is set for anything you throw at it.

The quad core you have is still adequate for playing games although I'd look to upgrade soon to a newer platform. I'd recommend moving over to AMD if you do get the 7850 though

While not a premier PSU, it should be capable of running just about any GPU. Does your case have any cooling fans installed (intakes or exhaust)? Are there unoccupied locations to add more cooling fans to your case? If not, you will probably want to get a card that exhausts its heat out of the rear of the card/case (blower style GPUs) rather than a non-blower style card which dumps the heat it generates inside the case.

Thanks, and I will ask about my overheating in a more relevant place, Thank you for this!

First of all how is the temps in C ? DO you have case fans installed ? If so how many ?

Second thing, do your PSU has a PCI-E 6/8 pin supplementary power connectors ? If not then HD 7750 will be your best bet. It requires pretty less power to run, will see much improvements in games and in overall performance, and no need for 6/8 power pins.

And lastly your PSU is not a trusted unit, so don't risk any higher end card with it.
