I have a R9 290 on Kijiji, I got offered a GTX 780 Lightning for it. Having some trouble deciding which and hoped you guys could help a bit. Here are some of my reasons for and against.

R9 290:
- 4GB Vram
- 512 Bit Memory Bus
- Mantle might turn out to be a game changer
- TrueAudio

GTX 780 Lightning:
- Better performance today
- Nice overclocker
- Quieter
- Cooler
- Lower Power Consumption
- (Con) 3GB Vram (I game at 1440p)

What do you guys think?

Pick the Lightning. No point having a hot and noisy R9 290 that can't be overclocked.

Get the MSI Twin Frozer R9 290. It's hot but doesn't run hot and at the same time very over clockable. Read more about it here:

Even Sapphire has come up with customized cooling for the R9 290.

I think he already has an R9 290, one with a reference cooler. And was offered to trade it for a 780 Lightning.
