the r9 270x is enough to run bf4 maxed out 1080p 40+fps. its about on par with a hd 7950 so expect to be able to run most titles on ultra. with the exceptions of crysis 3 but that would run fine on high. and you will save about $50 if you get the r9 270x

Do you think it would be kinda future proof? How many Gigs of Vram does it have?

gigabyte has a 4GB version comming out around january 16th of the 270x windforce it should be about 230 bucks. otherwise you can go for a r9 280x for future proofing. there's also the 770 .. also keep in mind that invidia should be releasing their new graphics cards come feb

I would go with the GTX 770 personally. If by maxed out you mean ultra settings, then the R9-270X will not be able to do so. The R9-270X would be able to play consistently at 60fps at medium-high settings.

I would say the GTX 770 would be your best bet. They are really very good cards.

Well it should last about 4-5 years of slowly going down in settings for games, but it can max pretty much anything right now. and 2gb vram is plenty, most games will use at most 1.5gb at 1080p

MSI 770 is right under budget and a very very nice card. If you find a sale you may even be able to get the 4GB version which would be more "future proof"

actually i know for a fact that it can play well above standard high settings and typically get 40+ on ultra settings in battle field 4. Just pointing out facts. @1080p @720p its a no brainer anything higher than 1080p is to much for this card you really need a 290 or 280x

Please post where you get that information from then. I had a 7970 with my FX 8350 overclocked to 4.5Ghz and would dip below 60fps on a regular basis at 1080p with ultra preset and no AA. Therefore it wouldn't make sense for a less powerful card to be able to perform better with a CPU that has less performance in the game than mine.

dude i can provide benchmarks from my own system lol to prove it.. i have a 270x and a 1090t overclocked to 4GHZ .. i also have BF4 installed on my revo drive 3 240GB .. I get an average fps of 56 to 60 according to plenty of tests i have run. i dont trust the in game benchmark but i know my gigabyte windforce can get those numbers the in game bench mark with maxed out says 80fps but i know thats bullshit! but raptor states 56 average over a 60 min match so im not going to debate it. actually i dont notice any lag other than that stupid rubber banding crap because of server load and I personally think its people with hack mods messing with the game.
