So I'm using a Turtle Beach X42 with my PC. I have a Z77 extreme 4 mobo and the built in sound card is supposed to support dolby digital live encoding. I am using S/PDIF connection to my headset receiver. My headset's receiver has a light that tells me Dolby Digital Live is being used. When using my Xbox, the light is on and I have glorious surround sound. However, when gaming on my PC, the light is off and I can tell that stereo is being used. In the Playback Devices > Realtek Digital Output > Properties > Supported formats I tested the Dolby Digital Live and the light came on and I heard the tone being played. When gaming, however, the light is not on. I would like to know what is wrong. The games I have tested are Arma 3, Crysis 2, Arma 2 OA, Planetside 2, and Team Fortress 2. At least one of these should support DDL encoding, but none work. I would really like to play using surround sound, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
