Hey everyone, I just upgraded to a 780 and am debating with the idea of getting a second. I was not originally planning on it so I have a xfx pro 850w power supply. Which is gold rated. I also have a I5 3570k overlooked to 4.6 ghz. I might be watercooling in the future so add in a pump and small amounts of voltage for more fans. I'm thinking I might have to upgrade if I wanted to sli. However I've been looking around and everyone seems to have a different opinion.

Thanks guys, and merry christmas!

Solution
Power Consumption GeForce GTX 780 2-way SLI

1.System in IDLE = 129W
2.System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 617W
3.Difference (GPU load) = 488W
4.Add average IDLE wattage ~20W
5.Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 508 Watts

GeForce GTX 780 2-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 750/800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

So you will be fine. Don't worry. And the PSU is solid.
