Hi

I am unsure about what psu to get for my first build. I have decided on seasonic gold G series unsure what power level to get. I was told 450 W would suffice but unsure if I need 550 or high (it does say needs 600W on tigerdirect). Below is what I plan to get, I'd like tos tay on a gold PSU

GPU: ~GTX770 $350
CPU i5 4670 $220
Mobo asus h87Plus $90
RAM: corsair vengeance low profile 8gb 70
HDD: WD 1TB blue ~80
Optical Drive
Wireless
PSU seasonic 450w gold85
Case Fractal define R480
Monitor Dell u2158hs 160
SSD: Crucial 256gb

power supplies are not created equal. one 450 will not be the same as another. find something with 40amps or a little more with enough connectors to wire everything now and in the future........... also buy a name brand.... at least 80bronze........... and not necessarily 450watts..........maybe more.

did you check the specs of the listed PS ( his proposal )

it's not always watts you need to look at but enough power to run your stuff........... the other day there was someone here with a 1000watt ps but it only had ( i think ) 13amps...??? maybe 20. can't remember.............. would I use that seasonic, yes. it is enough imo. would I personally buy something a little "bigger", yes, probably.

The 770 recommends 600w PSU. Not that you would really need that much constantly, but a little overkill with the PSU is not a bad thing by any means, and leaves you room to overclock video card/cpu, things of that nature. That being said, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438005 would be a great option. Evga customer service is second to none, and you wont find another company willing to put a 10yr warranty on their PSU
