I'm upgrading my Nvidia gtx 760 after a year of having my PC which should I buy EVGA classified Nvidia gtx 770 4gb or Sapphire Radeon 7970 HD ghz edition?

Solution
You will hear a BILLION different answers to this. the amd vs nvidi is a preference thing and a budget thing for the most part. The 7970 will outperform the 760 and will tie with the 770 in most cases. if you can find a 7970 with an aftermarket cooler for a cheaper price than the 770, then go with the 7970.

If you can find a cheaper 770 with even a stock cooler, go with that (nvidia tends to be ever EVER so slightly more power efficient and throws out less heat. If you are playing at 1080 however, you will run out of gpu power before you even hit the 2gb mark (only game i found that could break 2gb at 1080 was crysis 3 with AA cranked.

So it's all up to which you prefer as both are really good cards and you would just simple save money on the amd side but have a more power hungry card (not a problem for most people)

edit: If you are overclocking, you can find aftermarket 280x's or 7970s with non reference coolers that will overclock on average a little higher than the 770s will
