My budget is $675 and I'm looking to get as much out of it for gaming. I'd like to run games like World of Tanks, Warthunder, Guild Wars 2 and Battlefield 4 on ultra, is it possible with this budget?

I've talked with some friends and tried putting together something and this is what I came up with:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 - $119.99
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO - $32.59
GPU: PowerColor PCS+ R9 270x - $199.99
MOBO: MSI 970A-G46 - $69.99
RAM: Corsair XMS3 1x8GB DDR3 - $59.99
PSU: EVGA Bronze Certified 600w - $55.47
SSD: Kingston 120GB - $79.76

Total comes to $617.78 which after tax and shipping will be (hopefully) just under $675.

So what do you guys think? If their are better places to spend money tell me! I added the SSD because I got a bit more money and it sounds pretty cool, but I could forgo it if that money could be spend on a CPU/GPU/whatever that would improve my gaming experience. I'm also not very tech savvy and even after reading a bit would rather not try overclocking, unless again it could improve my gaming experience by quite a bit.

Thanks in advance!

Looks good. THe only thing I would bump up would be the mobo. Try and see if you can get one in the 90 range. I would also look at getting 2x4GB ram sticks instead of 1. The reasoning being you can take advantage of dual channels, and if one breaks you still have the other.

I agree and to get the money to do that swap out the GPU the GPU to this one:

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-axr92702gbd5dhoc

the 270x is just an overclocked 270, also investing in a better PSU would be nice like a corsair, XFX, or Antec. Try and see if you can find one off this list. I would aim for a Tier two.

As for the ram pick up 2x4 of Kingstong Hyperx Black

At first I planned on getting 2x8gb sticks but my money was getting stretched so I decided to cut that and just get more later. If I plan on upgrading to 16gb should I still get 2x4gb sticks?

For a new mobo how about this http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008V9959O/?tag=pcpapi-20 ?

And for a psu is tier 3 much off from tier 2? Can't seem to find one for under $70 which honestly already seems high, and as I said I don't plan on overclocking. What about http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-power-supply-cx600m or http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9

That mobo should work along with a tier three psu if you dont plan to overclock.

Alright now I've got

AMD FX-6300 - $119.99
CoolerMaster Hyper212EVO - $32.59
PowerColor AXR 270 - $179.99
Kingston 120GB SSD - $79.76
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 - $84.99
Kingston HyperX Black 2x4GB - $79.29
Corsair CXM CX600M - $69.99

Totaling to $646.60 before tax/shipping. Cutting closer than I'd like so hopefully I can get spotted some money but it will come back in mail-in rebates. Probably going to order everything tomorrow unless their is a known sale about to occur. Everything look straight and proper?

Thats great to hear, thought I had to scrap this and redo everything with a case in mind. I'm about to go with this, if you were me would you spend money in different places? IE forgo an SSD for a better cpu/gpu?

Yes I would drop the SSD to get a better GPU, let me put it together on pcpartpicker

are you reusing any other parts besides the case, like an HDD?

Hmm that 760 looks pretty tempting I've heard its a beast. Top performer at the $250 range? And I already have a 1TB hdd, so I'll just replace that with a 60GB SSD. Otherwise my only concern is 500w enough? With that rig I think I can get everything I want without overclocking, so as long as its good to go I think I'm sold :)

Yep 500W should be plenty if you aren't overclocking and the 760 is the best for the 250 range.

Ugh so close to just ordering everything. But I've just looked up an installation video for the hyper 212 evo and that will definitely not fit in my case..

Edit: or will it? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005O65JXI/?tag=pcpapi-20 http://www.apevia.com/productsInfo.asp?KEY=ATXB4KLW-BK

I'd rather just get a different cooling fan that'd fit but aren't smaller ones more expensive? I guess if it came to it I could drop the SSD for a case..

Or even better if the stock cooler could suffice...

Well I've just decided to forgo the aftermarket cooler. I asked and my friend said the stock cooler should be sufficient if I don't overclock. Thanks for all the great help!
