Hello,

So its Christmas and for one of my presents I was given a new wireless Rage Sound blaster headset - mostly cause my last one broke about a month ago. I was really looking forward to trying it out as the last one always had this little static background noise whenever any sound was made. However, I plugged in my new headset and immediately opened a skype call to friends at which point I noticed that, when listening to some of them, I couldnt even understand what they were saying over the immense static that was made everytime they talked. I find this really wierd as I always believed that the static had been caused by the last headset being faulty, but atleast with that headset the static was somewhat managable and I had grown to live with it, whenever a deep or loud noise is played through my new ones they are almost useless.

Any advice or help would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

what I would try in first place is checking your audio driver. See if you can find any updates for it and uninstall the current one and after rebooting your pc install the newer version. If there is no newer version just install the same driver again but make sure you remove the current one first.

You may also want to look at the Audio quality settings, if you have this set up too high on your driver settings (for example for Realtek audio settings, setting it up to 24 bit and a high sample rate format as 192 hz or a high setting which your speakers/headsets don't support it may cause static or crackling)

You may also test the headset on a different device, such as a smartphone or mobile device to make sure it is not the headset:)
