So this is a new computer I just got for Christmas and first off I know the video card isn't the best but on the can you run it site it says I can run skyrim on high close to maxed out. These are my specs and when I play skyrim even on low, I get horrible fps.

Graphics card- NVIDA GeForce GT610
PSU-500 W
HDD- 1000GB
Processor- AMD FX(TM)-8100 Eight-Core processor 2.80GHz
Ram- 8GB
64 bit operating system

Graphics card blows. "CanYouRunIt" measures the memory size on the GPU. Not the actual power of the card. Upgrade that and you'll be able to play without issues.

The gt 610 is really holding you back. This is my current card that only plays skyrim on medium settings compared to yours( or at least similar).

And the card I plan on getting compared to yours.

I would recommend the gtx 660 if your budget is a little tighter but still need good performance or a radeon HD 7850. In a big open world game like Skyrim getting a card with 2GB of memory would help you would see an improvement in performance.

Beanbag, do you want to upgrade the card? If so how much are you willing to spend? I would suggest at least $100 for an entry gaming card.

Well guys I do plan on upgrading the card ASAP, right now I have 90$ and have some more Christmas money coming so my budget might be around 120-130$ or should I save up for this?

That card will eat up Skyrim. I was going to suggest a 7770HD minimum, but a 7850 is better.

I would say save up and get it. Sapphire makes great cards and you wont regret it for the performance boost over what a $100 card can do.
