Got a PC today for Christmas, was building it, everything went well, the only thing I thought was wrong was that my PSU only had a 4-pin connector for the 8-pin CPU power. When I tried to plug it in and turn on the PSU, nothing happened at all. Help?!

PSU: Turbolink 500W
CPU: AMD FX-8320
MOBO: MSI 970A-646
RAM: G-Skill Sniper 2x4

If the year is 2013, then the CPU is supported. Is the 4 pin power cable connected?

Yes it is. When I turn on the power supply, it gets warm and when I press the power button on the case to "turn on" the computer, all that happens is the Phase 1 CPU power light comes on for about a 1/4 of a second then goes off

It looks like a power issue. Can you borrow a PSU and test?

Try also testing the board outside the case, for ruling out a short.

Just found out motherboard didn't come with any jumpers. Would that have any effect on it booting or not.

Sorry, can you explain what jumpers you are referring to (the CMOS one or different)?

Do you have an old HDD? They have similar jumpers. You need only one for the 1-2 pins. Check the manual if not sure how to insert it.

Could I just buy some jumpers, because there is none anywhere in the old computer.

A jumper is enough.
