I recently bought an LG 3530a sound bar for my 4 year old 32" LG tv. The sound bar is great and my tv still does a great job, but I have noticed when watching tv as well as video from my laptop that there is about a 1 second lag between the video and audio. (Mouth moves on TV 1 sec later I hear sound). My setup here is hdmi from comcast cable box to TV and then optical from sound bar to TV. I tried watching a movie from my laptop as well which was connected through had I to the tv and then sound was from Bluetooth (I couldn't figure out how to get sound from laptop to TV/sound bar in the hdmi). I also have my wii u and xbox 360 hooked up (hdmi and composite hook ups respectively) and have not noticed this lag yet, although it may just not have sprung out like tv and movies do with delay. Is there any way to fix these things? I have a spare optical cable output that I am going to try to connect directly to the tv box to see if that helps anything, otherwise I am at a loss without going out and buying a newer tv that may solve the problem?

Thanks for whatever suggestions you all may have for me!

If i understand your post correctly, you have:

Cable Box to TV via HDMI.
Laptop to TV via Bluetooth (audio) and HDMI (video).
Wii U connected to the TV via HDMI.
XBOX 360 connected to the TV via composite.
TV to soundbar via optical.

Only the TV is connected to the soundbar.
You have lag when watching cable and when using your laptop.

Is this all correct?
First thing i would do is stop using Bluetooth. Try again to get audio over HDMI working. In the 'Playback Devices' settings there should be 'Digital Output', 'HDMI' or something similar in the list.

The bluetooth audio streaming is not that big of deal to me because this won't be happening often. The bigger concern is the cable box to tv sound delay. And yes all of that information is correct.
