Hello all! I've been thinking about upgrading from Windows 7 Ultimate to 8.1. Stuttering in Battlefield 4 was the source of this thought. But then, being a game developer, I've been thinking of taking advantage of what newer versions of DirectX has to offer. I've been wondering if I will experience lower FPS in most games or perhaps more FPS than what I get on Windows 7? Is having access to newer versions of DirectX better for future games? How fast do you think 11.1/11.2 will become more used? I am willing to get used to the Metro UI. Here are my specifications:
i7 2600k @3.4GHZ
XFX HD 7850 2GB
16GB of 1600MHZ Ram
1TB WD HD
120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
Coolermaster HAF 922
MSI Z68MA-ED55 (B3)
I intend on installing 8 on my SSD, which I use for all my operating systems, whereas, my TB is used for all games, music, documents, etc. What do you guys think? Is it worth the upgrade? Thanks! I really appreciate it.
