hey guys..i have Sapphire HD 7870 XT, i5-3470, 4GB Ram, windows 7 32bit, 23inch monitor
i sometimes when i play far cry 3 for a long time i see the Load of the GPU goes to 160%!! which is weird? isn't 100% is the max load for a GPU? ,although i don't have any heat issue, i use MSI Afterbuener.

another thing..i sometimes get a lot of crashes even when i play PES 2014..it gives me Game not Responding ..is the crashes from the PSU or from the Ram?

i have Thermaltake 450 watt PSU, Peaks at 500 watt..and people told me that its enough for my current rig

i don't get any blue screen or restart. just the games sometimes crashes

More about : gpu load 160

This is indeed a powersupply issue. Upgrade to a 650 watt 80+ bronze certified power supply such as something from corsair and you should be just fine.

Even if this doesnt fully fix your problem, you peaking at 50 watts over what your psu is rated for is not only dangerous for the psu, it is dangerous for parts in the rest of your system

thank you for your answer..what about the 160% GPU load? is that normal?
and 650 watt for a graphic card like 7870? isn't that over kill?

No, the 7970 itself is capable of drawing upwards of 250 watts (up to 300 when oc'd). The 160% power load is in no way normal. usually you can oc the power limit to 110%, but 160% is an error somewhere along the line, either in the software you are using, or less likely, is with your card itself. If you can play most games without crashing at typical framerates then i would just keep an eye on it, make sure you do a clean install of the latest drivers, and probably stay away from overclocking

thank you..not planing for overclocking with my current PSU ..The 7870 XT i have uses 185watts at max load..and unfortunately i can afford for a new PSU right now.
i've done the math and found out that my PSU is enough for my 7870..but I'm Not Sure
also i have 13.11 Beta Driver
