PNY Memory only runs at 1333

Hi,

I have an Asus 6630 and i upped the RAM from 8GB 1600 to 16GB 1600, however it is only running at 1333 there is no option in the BOIS to change this any ideas? thanks. I have the CM 6630 16GB (2 x 8GB)

I am looking at the specs of your computer and what it says it supports:
8 GB
Dual Channel, DDR3 at 1333/1066/800MHz
2 x DIMM

This means that the max your machine can run RAM is 1333MHz. Unless there is a feature to overclock RAM, there is no way to boost your speed to 1600MHz.

That is pretty good RAM, so I suggest keeping it in there and when you upgrade to a new computer eventually, get a motherboard that supports 1600MHz and you will get that speed.

My old ram is 1600 MHz I can confirm this, I did not upgrade my ram from 1333 to 1600, Just 8GB to 16GB my old ram runs at 1600 MHz Those specs you read are wrong.

Well, it's from ASUS's website, so that's strange. If that was the case, then was your computer showing 16GB in windows?

windows does show all 16GB, just not running at 1600Mhz. I am stumped

Unless you are sure that you had 1600MHz (post a picture if you want) with the old RAM, then I'm going to trust ASUS with their information on their website that your mobo is only compatible with 1333MHz/ What I'm looking at is http://www.asus.com/Desktops/CM6630/#specifications

that was with my old Ram installed, the new ram wont work at that speed , MB supports it
