Hey all,

My write speeds for my Samsung 840 evo were pretty good as of Dec. 8 when I last tested them. I wanted to randomly test it today, and found out my write speeds have decreased dramatically!

This is an image of the speeds now, the read is somewhat unaffected, but the writes have gone down a lot.

I usually use samsung magician which comes with the SSD. Here are the read/writes of it before when it worked compared to what they are now...

2 major things have been done since last performance test (Dec. 8). I had a bunch of unidentified drivers, and it took me hours but I finally found all of them via other means (not MB manafacturer), and today I disassembled my computer to remove dust, and some wire management, and I don't remember which SATA ports I had my SSD and HDD on, but I've literally tried all of them(there's only 4).

Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB

Anyone know whats wrong?!

My guess would be that something in the driver clean-up process is causing your problems. Do you have "System Restore" turned on? If so, you could try to restore to an earlier date and undo whatever it is that is causing your problem. Failing that, I would try re-installing your MB's latest chipset drivers from Asus' website.

I can't, my system restore is turned off.

I was reading a couple threads about this. Yeah I got around to re-installing the chip set drivers, that did it.

Thanks Y0GI for the help, speeds went back up to normal!
