I rently bought a Samsung 840 pro 128gb SSD for my OS and a couple games i play often and a new Seagate 2TB HDD for storage.

i had a Toshiba 1TB that was just horrible (quality) and my boot times were around 20 seconds. but now with a new install of windows on the SSD and just 1 game on it my boot times are at least a minute long. When i boot/restart it boots normal until i get the windows logo loading screen. My screen goes black for like 30 seconds, then my mouse appears, and 30 seconds later my login screen appears and it runs smooth. WIndows installed in under 10 minutes and gave me hope cause it was so much faster than my old HDD. but now its just slow and making me want my HDD back.

Ive gone into the BIOS and set the SSD as first on booting (did that before i installed windows). I have all the current drivers on everything. any help would be appreciated. Heres my PC build if you need to see components.

What else did you install? a virus or full antivirus scan on startup could easily do this
Is booting into safe mode quicker?
Is the SSD aligned? trimmed?
Is windows installed in bios mode (normal) or efi/uefi mode?
Are all processors enabled in the bios? In windows config?

To check your windows files you can run System File Checker (SFC for short)

i havent installed anything else except the drivers and some disk magician for my seagate drive.
idk what SSD aligned or trimmed means. this is my first SSD ive ever used. and my first PC build.
i installed windows the "normal" way? when i connected my SSD and HDD i put in my win 8 disk and it installed.
yes all processors are enabled.

so i deleted my format on all my drives so they were completely empty. reinstalled win 8 on the SSD with AHCI mode on and honestly its working a hell of a lot better than it was. so idk if it was just a bad install or if me having the IDE mode on was making that big of a difference. will post if it happens again thanks for the help guys :)
