I just built a computer and every time I turn it on, it stays on for about 3 seconds and then turns off and continues to do that until I turn the system off through the PSU. Nothing displays on the monitor and the only sound that is made is from the disk drive. The debug LED starts to flash something but is then unable to due to the system suddenly turning off. By the way this is my first time build a PC.

System Specs.

Intel i5 4670k
Corsair H100i CPU cooler
Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H Motherboard
Corsair AX 860 PSU
16 Gb of Kingston HyperX Memory
120 Gb Kingston HyperX SSD
240 Gb kingston HyperX SSD
No graphics card yet (planning on getting Gigabyte WIndforce 780)

Okay, I got the computer to stay on, but now there is no display showing up no my monitor. I've tried every display type: HDMI, VGA, DVI. Nothing is coming up, the monitor is hooked up to the motherboard because I don't have a graphics card yet.

I got to computer working, but now the monitor won't display anything. I've tried all the display types: HDMI, VGA, DVI, and none of them seem to be working. I have the monitor connected to the motherboard because I don't have a graphics card yet. Do I need a graphics cards?

No. u still can use onboard graphics. Try again with restarting the computer just connect the vga input. When turn on the pc try hit del or insert key continously.

I tried it and all it said was, "VGA No Signal". The monitor works perfectly fine when it's plugged into my laptop but it still doesn't work with the PC.

You need to configure the bios. You need a graphic card to run it. Do you have any old graphic card. If do just plug it in and configure the bios. Set the onboard graphics enabled. If cant i afraid u need new gpu instead. I have tried my best to helP mate. :D

I just had this problem. solved it by taking the cables out for all USB devices, LAN, Optical and HDMI. then took out power cable and pressed power button for 10 sec. plugged everything back in and turned on power and it was working again. PS had the problem with black screen too earlier this year this solved it too
