Hey all! Hope you all had great Holiday.

I was installing my new RAM and CPU today and ran into quite a few problem. I opened up my rig, installed my cpu and RAM and boom, no picture on boot up. This happened to me the other day so I figured it was nothing major, since the issue fixed itself. I've been back and forth to college so I figured there must be a loose wire.

To my dismay this didn't seem to be the case. I attached my case speaker and was greeted to 4 short beeps. After some reading I switched back to my i3 2100 and removed the RAM. I gave it go and was greeted to 3 long beeps. Luckily this meant RAM, I plugged in my RAM and got a picture. I am very relieved right now, but also confused. I literally received no picture what so ever while the i5 3570k was in my comp. Do I need to update my bios? Is the CPU defective?

Thanks for taking the time to read!

Well I believe the RAM is compatible. I'm using the following:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231445&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-Memory%20%28Desktop%20Memory%29-_-G.SKILL-_-20231445&cm_sp=&AID=10440897&PID=3938566&SID=

The computer is running with this RAM installed. Right now I'm running the i3 2100 which is a 1155 processor and i5 3570k is also a 1155. I'm pretty sure it is compatible with my board.

Here is a link to my board for reference:

I have not, I was so relieved to see a picture that I figured I'd log on here and get some advice. Just to be clear, I shouldn't have to update my bios? I'm not sure how the sandy bridges were released. I last updated it in May of 2012 when I installed it with the disc it came with.

BIOS should be fine. But you can always check for an update that has something to do with newish processors. And maybe try putting the 3570k into another build if you have one, if not put it into the build again and see what happens.

I guess I'll go ahead and give it another go. I do not have another build to pop it into unfortunately. I'll post back with my results. Thanks for the quick responses!

You know you may be right. For some reason I'm sitting here thinking the 3570k is a sandy bridge. I'll get on that and post back with my results.

I guess I didn't. I downloaded the file from Asrocks website and put it onto a fat32 flashdrive. When I go into the BIOS it isn't showing up to flash. The type is .70. Suggestions?
