Case Fan Noise

One of my top 120 mm case fans on my Rosewill Destroyer keeps making this weird loud sound constantly. I took it out of the case and it made absolutely no noise while running. Anyone have any ideas why it may make this sound in the case only?

Best guess: Over-tightening the mounting screws is twisting the fan's frame causing it to contact the blade.

Case Rattle ?
Change position ? some fans only make noise mounted vertically
Hitting anything ?

it seems that the noises come from the vibration of the fan touching the case. Anyone know of a way to fix this?

nylon washers or rubber o-rings between the fan and the case. Moves the fan away from the case and cushions the vibration at the same time.

Phanteks includes nice little rubber corner pads .... but if ya don't have a Phanteks fan
