Hello everyone, currently I am running an i5 2500 with an Nvidia GTS 450 card; I am interested in upgrading to an i7 3770k with this video card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130827
Currently I do a lot of video game streaming; but I stream in 720p and based on some research I was doing; in order to stream in 1080p or better successfully you'll need a better cpu/gfx card; as well as a decent up/down speed on internet. I was wondering if the upgrades to my video card and CPU would be worth it or should I be considering a different CPU altogether? I have no plans to overclock the CPU as from what I've read that particular model runs fairly hot anyway.
My 2nd question is assuming I do replace my CPU; I've read that thermal paste comes pre-applied to the new CPU, so would I just need to put thermal paste on the contact part of my heatsink and not the CPU correct?
