Hello, I was in disk manager initializing my new SSD. My disk manager and BIOS were detecting the disk and saying it was uballocated, which is good. Now, while it was initializing, Windows thought it was the perfect time to restart for updates.

I checked Disk Management and BIOS and it's no longer there. I popped in my Windows 8 cd and checked the drives list and it isn't listed there either. Is there any way I can return it to factory state?

EDIT: The SSD is now functional however I cannot boot from it, as I think I missed something important, I will continue reading the stickys for any advice and I would love some advice from you guys, even though it's pretty late.

Solution
Somewhere in between all this rebooting and booting from CD the SSD switched from "G:" to "C:" and is now being used as the OS Disk, while the HDD switched roles as well.

This was a very confusing first experience with SSDs, it doesn't help when all of my problems magically fix themselves without giving me feedback on how, but if it isn't broken then don't fix it.

Alright, I managed to fix the situation (somehow) by plugging the SATA Data Cables into different spots. Before I plugged it into different spots nothing was showing up.and it scared the **** out of me because my PC turned itself off while formatting (Windows Update)

Cloning = Success
Boot = Fail

I formatted my SSD and recloned it because of the issue in OP. Now it is showing up in Computer looking like a duplicate of my HDD (Yay)

I am sort of at a loss as to what I do from here. Do I boot from the SSD and format my HDD?

When I try to boot from the SSD I get

A Disk Read Error Occurred
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to Restart.

Did I skip a step? What I did was

Install Samsung Software
Clone SSD from HDD
Restart
Upgrade Firmware
Boot from SDD

Hopefully I'm passed the root of the problem and now this is just a simple solution, I've been at this all day :(

Yes.

-If you buy a new Mobo and SDD, make sure to use the original SATA data cables relative to their drives. I used my old SATA cable (that was originally used by my harddrive) with my SDD and would get data read errors every 30 minutes. I swapped it with the cable the HDD was currently using, which was one(of two) that was included with the Mobo. This fixed my data read error.

My old HDD ran at 7200RPM

-If you hear a constant vibration from your PC, make sure to check your drives are properly seated and the screws are snug.

-As for data migration, it's recommended that you reset your Source drive back to factory settings. This makes file system errors and bad sectors less likely.

- Also, before migrating data make sure you check if your drive is being detected. If your BIOS detects the drive but Windows doesn't, that often means there was a data read error, or something stopping the drive from booting properly.

- I got the 840 EVO which only came with the CD and SDD. I was very confused as how I was going to install this without screws, or the SATA to USB cable. You can simply skip the cable step, and go straight into installing it, that is what I did anyway. Make sure to check if your PC case came with any extra screws, mine came with extra bracket screws which is what I used to secure the drive.

- Windows 8 is very picky with installing onto a new drive from the CD. It is highly recommended you use Samsung Data Migration or a third party tool if possible.
