Hello, For Christmas I built my dad a new computer (still setting it up) and I was debating what to do about the graphics card. I got him an Intel Core i5-4670k with Intel HD 4600 Graphics on board, but I have a 9800GT from a computer I built in high school that I could put in it. He watches a lot of movies on it, and it is hooked up to a 46" TV. Would this computer benefit from the 9800GT, or should I just leave it with on board? (The 9800GT is just laying around)

Thanks in advance,
-Brad

Solution
it would be a good idea to plug in the 9800GT. A discrete video card is advantageous in your case since it would draw the resources it needs from the video card instead of your processor and the 9800GT is a lot faster than the intel 4600. He could also do some gaming on the 9800 GT if he wanted also.
