Hi!
Been looking for answers for hours now an while Ive found similar situations nothing has worked yet.

Today I installed a GTX 780, replacing my HD 6870. Before, my resolution was set to 1920x1080 and fit perfectly. Now, 1920x1080 is still the recommended setting with about .5 inch overflow on all sides.
1768x992 is what fits my screen now.
I am connecting to a 40" Sylvania lc407ss1 TV via HDMI cable.

Ive tried messing around with scaling and the like in the NVIDIA Control Panel with no luck so far.

Any more ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanx

i'm not going to be much help... but i think you should be able to adjust the picture with your monitor itself.

Unfortunately the settings on this TV are very limited. The only way to change that screen size (that I have found) is through "format" where the options are: normal, 4:3, movie expand, zoom, and wide. Normal is the best fit.

Thanx for the reply.

I personally have run into this problem with an insignia, an lg and an older hitachi tv. There is a setting on the tv itself that seems to allow it to recognize the input as being a computer signal (you would have to look it up for your specific monitor, but that's the same problem i had on all 3 televisions

If i were with the insignia tv right now i would go through the menu labels to help you find the setting, but i'm not :(

the setting is in the more advanced settings of the tv, not the aspect ratio changing section

Just went through my TVs manual. There are no more settings for adjusting the screen other than changing colors, tint, brightness, etc.

Thanx for the reply.

Well i did look up your specific tv, and somewhere hidden in the depths of the menues should be that pc function (read the manual quickly online) lol

Ive gone through my manual once again as well as finding one online and searching through it for the keyword "PC" and found that HDMI1 is meant for PC usage. I was in HDMI3. However, there seems to be the same options as before. The manual said I should be able to choose: normal, full, and dot by dot.

This may be because I am not using a HDMI-DVI conversion and stereo mini-plug cables like it says. However, I would think that my pure HDMI cord would have better quality picture and still carry the audio.

Yes, hdmi will be about the best output besides dvi, Did changing the hdmi port fix the problem? Hdmi should be just fine and carry the audio. If this hasnt worked then i myself must submit that i do not have a solution for you :(

No moving from HDMI3 to HDMI1 changed nothing.
I still have about a half inch of the screen overstretched on all sides in 1920x1080.
I can use 1768x992 just fine, but some things look weird and out of focus.
