Okay well, i am now having the dreaded screen of blackness when i changed out my RAM and moved my GPU a bit. I have already installed my GTX 760 and it worked fine. I play Dead Space 3, Warframe, SWTOR, whatever on high settings and worked fine. Also after making the changes i said i disabled the intel hd graphics and my screen went black so i took out the BIOS battery and plugged it back in. Then i rebooted then enabled it back. But everytime i went to a game it would give me a black screen and the pc is still running. I doubt it's the PSU since i've been running it fine previously with the gtx760 fine for 3 weeks already. So i went on intel and updated my BIOS version so i am currently up to date. Then i uninstalled all the programs and drives for the gtx760. So i rebooted it holy crap it didn't display shutdown on me. i turn it back off. install the GPU, boot it, so far so good. I install the drivers with the nvidia disk, have nvidia experience up to date with it's drivers. Great right? then i opened up a game to see if it'll work and nothing. I don't know what the problem could really be anymore. any suggestions? Is it possible my games are running through my intel hd graphics instead of the gtx760 and if so how do i change that? i already have my BIOS display setting to "discrete".

fixed it but i need help to understand why. So what i did was...... I switched my 16gb ram back to 8gb and bam. everything works like back to before....I definetly believe it's my PSU now probably but i don't get how just an increase of 8 gbs of ram make it go over the line and have so much trouble. does it take that much power for it or is it cause my GPU is sucking up all the power and probably doing dmg to my pc since it's a stock x51 psu with 330w i think? just need so insight now please.

Remove the GPU and buy a new power supply. 330 watts is not enough for a gtx 760. The 760 requires a 500 watt PSU that can do 30 amps on the 12v rail.

If your budget isn't that high I would look into maybe a corsair CX500m. You could get a worse one but IMO CX series isnt even that great. I personally would never buy below HX.

It's back to the display shutting off once again :(  no problem with buying another psu. I just don't get why it would work with the gtx 760 most this month then bam. Not work at all. How would I even go about putting a psu in a x51?
