Gateway DX 4200-09 What Kind of processor may I use?

On Friday I am going to up Best Buy to get a new processor for my PC here is a link to my pc showing all its specs. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113088 So I'm wondering whats the best type of processor I can put in this PC for $250? I have upgraded the Power supply to a 430 Watt, not a huge upgrade from the stock 300 Watt but its better than nothing. My processor right now is only a 1.8 ghz and it shows when trying to play games or convert videos. I'm really wanting this upgrade mostly for converting video files so for $250 whats my best option?

you would be best to ditch your board its getting old and processor

and youd be best to buy it online best buy is overpiced for there goods

id save up as youd have wipe your hd and reinstall windows and new ram and board and processor

    intel

if going by simple route intel is answer due to easily installation with amds boards youll have to flash the bios plus you have a better upgrade path
