I never got the chance to buy battlefield 3 because of account issues. I will try again this year while it is on sale but I would like to know if you need battlefield premium edition to be able to play on any server. I don't know how it works with BF4 but i assume they would want people to keep buying DLC and have the premium editions be the standard. Is this right or can i just get the regular PC download and hook up with everybody else that has either??. I am not of big fan of singlepayer DLC anyway. I want to push my PC a little harder than Bad company 2, which is still a very good game.

As stated above Premium enables you to gain access to the premium queue. This also means that if the server is full, premium members get into the game before regular players. So if there are 5 premium and 3 regulars, the regulars are going to be waiting a bit. Premium also entitles you to get the DLC for a cheaper price(if you would end up buying all of them when they come out) on top of a few days(I think) early access to all of them before they launch. You get a bunch of useless profile icons and there are a few premium-only camo's and I believe one or two knives. Is it worth it? If you are planning on playing BF4 all the way through, yeah. You save money in the end. There is no(as far as I know) singleplayer DLC in any of the...

Premium editions from what i understand only allows priority in servers say if a server is 63/64 players and you(without premium) and another(with premium) join that server at the same time, he will get priority over you. I'm pretty sure you can play on any server without premium. Premium is just a cheaper alternative to getting all the DLC for cheaper and also get new weapons camos and server priority. If someone with more knowledge thinks im incorrect please correct me because this is just information i've gather for my own experience when i was wondering the same question. IS IT WORTH IT? To me, no because i don't play very often. To a dedicated gamer who's gona hop on all the time and play with friends ect. then yeah go for it.
