Hello!!
I have problems with my new graphics card. ASUS Radeon R9 270X DirectCU II Top 256 BIT 2 GB GDDR5. I bought it 24.12.2013. and of course I've plugged new card in PCI Express slot and also I've plugged in two PCI Express 6 PIN power connectors and my computer didn't run. I mean it won't start. All I see is only black screen no POST screen either.
What should I do? Everything is plugged in properly. HDMI to HDMI. Maybe it it the Power Supply fault? What do you think ?

My PC:

CPU: AMD FX 4170 4.2 GHz
RAM: 8 GB Hyper X Genezis
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
PSU: Trust 520 W Low Noise Big Fun.

Guys! I know how to fix this problem, just made it by myself. (first of all, sorry for my sucky english..). Ok so what I did was:

Updated my BIOS to the newest version.

After that I removed my old card's drivers.

Installed the new card <- and here comes the important thing. Everyone is thinking that when you hear this "click!" sound that comes out of MOBO when you press your graphics card in, is good, but not this time. R9 card's are fu**ed up. You have to press them very very hard in, and you have to do the same progress with all cabels connected to the graphics card. After you heard the "click!" sound, don't stop but dont break the mobo..
(Btw. when you press the card in, you should hold your case with one of your hand on the...

When I've pressed power button nothing happens I can only see a black screen and the text "no signal" and computer won't start. Yes I checked HDMI cable is plugged in properly. I don't know what is going on.

First of all make sure you didn´t accidently pull another cable from the motherboard.

After that, remove your graphics card and try to power it up.

If that doesn´t help either, you could try another PSU if you have one lying around.

If you don´t have one, try to power your system on with only minimal configuration.

I am having the exact same issue. New Gigabyte R9 270x 4GB card. I install it and turn on computer, no post. I put any of my other slight older video cards in and all of them work. I updated the bios, did a cmos reset and updated again, nothing helped. My motherboard MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3) specs say that the pcie is pcie 3 supportive. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130611. I believe my PSU is providing enough power - 650 watt BFG with a pair of specific 6 pin connectors.
.
Still looking and reading and testing to find an answer.

I usually would expect your systems to turn on and then off again when a problem is being detected.
So, imo that´s a bit weird.

I assume you checked all the power cables?

Can you test your cards in another system to make sure they are not DOA?

Make sure that your card is properly plugged in just for sure. What is your Power Supply? I've changed my older PSU to Cooler Master G650M 650 Watts and it's working fine right now.

(Btw. when you press the card in, you should hold your case with one of your hand on the back of your case where you have MOBO so nothing will break. Also if that doesn't help, try to exchange the 6 pin cables. I had to do that too.)

After that, if all works fine. You have to install the drivers and reboot your system.

I hope it help someone!

I know this might sound dumb but is the cable plugged into the motherboard or the graphics card
