Mixing Two Different Brands

Solution

Those SHOULD work fine together as they are really the same memory just different heat spreader colors I believe.
I would not mix brands on memory. While they may be the same specs, different makers will have different methods of getting those specs. Typically, memory comes in "sets" that are somewhat factory matched. You can usually use two of the same sticks from a maker from different "sets", but the only way to be sure you get the performance you need is to use a matched set.

Any time you mix DRAM - even the same exact model can be problematic - best bet is always to buy a single set of the full amount you want that way it's guaranteed to work as the sticks have been tested to play together...If you mix and no joy, then come the headaches of returns, RMAs, restocking fees, etc - and some e/re-tailers won't even process a return
