Hello all.
I recently upgraded my power supply to a Corsair VS550 in order to install a Radeon R9 280X to replace my aging HD6750. Unfortunately AMD raised the prices and the 280X is now out of my price range. I was going to go for the GTX760, but I got an offer from a friend to ship me a GTX770 from the US. Now the problem I am facing is the power output. The card says it requires a 600W power supply. Will it be able to run with my 550W?
The rest of my rig is as follows:
ASRock 970DE3 U3/S3
AMD Phenom II 965BE @stock (Planning to upgrade to an FX8320 somewhere down the line, though both the 965 and 8320/8350 draw pretty much the same amount of power)
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance @1600Mhz
1TB Hitachi HDD

Thanks in advance

yes, it's fine. the card doesn't REQUIRE a 600W psu, the card manufacturer RECOMMENDS a 600W psu cuz they assume you'll be running a hot processor and 4-8 hard drives and have a ton of power to spare. which you're not doing. you're fine.

I am aware that it doesn't draw 600W. It says that the max power draw is 250W, the rest of my system I estimate to be around 220W, so I should have quite a bit of head room left over. It's just that since this PSU is on the value end, and I haven't seen what it can actually do yet, I was kind of concerned it might not perform to the required level.
Thanks :)
