I've been tasked by my brother to fix his old Aspire 1810TZ. The initial problem (I believe) was that the old HDD had become corrupted and needed replacing. I popped over to his house and replaced the HDD and added some more ram, though had the dreaded acer black screen of death problem and went away to research how to fix this. Upon my return, however, the laptop screen (without any intervention on my behalf) will now boot up but it seems as if it won't respond to any input from the keyboard. As a result, I can't get to the BIOS to change the list of boot from devices.. The laptop does go to an initial screen and with the external HDD seems to pick it up but subsequently displays an "NDRL error" message....

I would like to avoid being beaten up by my brother and so any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated!

Thanks
