Need to get a new Motherboard/CPU

So my computer, that I built about 4 years ago, seems to have died. It won't boot past the bios screen, no post beep, and I"d taken out memory, video card, replaced the battery, nothing seems to work. Thus, my wife has agreed to let me upgrade my motherboard and CPU. My other components are:

HD 5770 video card (I know, it's old.)
12gigs of ram

My current CPU is a phenom II black quad core.

So... I'm trying to keep the price as low as possible without sacrificing performance. The most intensive things I do on it are Photoshop and World of Warcraft.

Any suggestions?

I'd say going for an i3 4340 or an i5 3330 (If you want Intel) and an FX6350 or an F8120 (If you want AMD). Go for the Gigabyte H61M-S1 Motherboard for Intel (However it only has 2 RAM slots and one PCI slot so beware) and the Asus M5A78L-M LX V2 Motherboard for Intel. However, you must do your research before selecting the motherboard especially as most compatibility issues may arise. Hope this helped. Cheers!
