How would I go about moving Windows 7 from an HDD to an SSD?

I recently aquired a 64GB SSD as a companion to my 1TB HDD. The SSD is completely empty at the moment.

On my 1TB HDD, there is the Windows 7 OS and about 300GB of personal files.

I'd like to transfer Windows from the HDD to the SSD, but I want to leave the rest of the data on the HDD.

What is the best way to go about this?

u can't transfer windows but u can transfer your files and settings on newly installed windows on your ssd through windows easy transfer to do so u need a flash drive or hdd if you want to transfer between 2 running systems u can do it through network also.

1) A fresh install to the SSD is really indicated in your case. There are lots of transfer applications, but they want to transfer the whole partition. You could create a second partition on your HDD and move all your data to it, but...
2) 64 GB for Win7 is going to be tight after a while.
