i just got a new headset, i tried to plug it in, nothing (i tested it on other devices and it was fine) i plugged in earbuds, nothing still. i rolled back and updated drivers and still nothing changed, so can i get some help? i have messed around on the audio manager and it didn't help
what do i do to make this work? i turned it on and off before anyone says to

any help is welcome

What sort of machine do you have (make and model)? Did you build it or buy it stock? What I'm digging for is whether or not the headers are connected, which would only be a problem in a homebuilt.

And a silly question: How do you identify the headphone jacks? Color? A symbol?

it's home built, i checked the header, the one marked as "hd audio" was plugged in. audio jacks being, the two front ports with the headphones and mic symbol (those should be plugged in too since the only wire from the case not plugged in is a usb 3.0 connector) i used the back integrated sound card ports too and those weren't working either. i'm 80% sure it's software side of some sort
