From the research I've done, the competition is really between the Zotac Amp and the Galaxy HOF. In the price range of $520-$570 these are both the best bang for you buck..and not just in overall performance per dollar but in every single aspect: TDP, noise, heat, base performance, and OC performance.
  3. i will prefer evga over zotac for 1 reason : zotac has bad cooling system compared to anything brand...

You can't make decisions in a vacuum. Meaning you can't take past card's marks and think that's what new cards will perform at. Just look at the numbers, and don't spend more and get less just to have a different brand label on your equipment.

I shouldn't talk about buying what's the best per dollar, as my rig costs $3000, but that doesn't mean I go out and spend more money than I need to. you say heating is an issue, but the Amp! never got over 72C at full load while being Overclocked.

Also, Zotac's Warranty for the AMP! Edition is 5 years..and since it's voltage locked, unless you buy extra tools to unlock the card you have yourself one of the best deals available. When OC'ed it outperforms, not matches, it outperforms non reference r9 290x and 780ti cards..it consistently beats the Titan while OC'ed as well.. And the best part of all of this, it's only $500..

As an aside, 3 gtx 770s still out performs two 780s/290s no matter what the brand, and it costs the same amount.

first of all that's a GTX 760 review, not a GTX 780 one..and besides look at this:

And more importantly the benchmarks here:
