Monitor not detecting computer

I just built my first computer but the monitor isn't reading my video card. I plugged in my xbox and it worked so the monitors not the problem. I also unplugged my graphics card to try onboard graphics but that didn't work either.
My specs are cpu: i5 3470 gpu: gtx 770 mobo: Asrock z77 extreme 3 psu: Seasonic 620w 80 plus bronze Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the cables and the ports of your GPU/Motherboard. It should be either one of them. I'd suggest you go to a specialist shop after a couple of days if you don't get the problem fixed as only those who see the PC in flesh will be able to tell what the problem is. Don't worry...
