Primary monitor:
BenQ GL2450 24"
1920 x 1080
16:9
Connected via HDMI

Second monitor:
Hanns.G HW191D 19"
1440 x 900
16:10
Connected via VGA with DVI adapter

My GPU is the Gigabyte GTX 670 2GB

When I go onto the config for the second monitor resolution, there is no 1440 x 900 option as shown below:

Please don't try to help if you don't know. A wrong answer is worse than no answer. Vga supports any res up to 2048x1536. Vga can have just as good quality as a digital signal. The issue is it's being seen as a non pnp monitor and with no edid the computer can't tell what res the monitor can display. This is why it's just listing a bunch of different res that it can't even display. The easiest way to get what you want is to just set a custom res in nvidia control panel.

Please reread the picture you included. See the word 'display' it shows NOT Hanns.G HW191D 19" but Generic display driver was installed for it. Since you have a NVIDIA card installed you should NOT be using Window's Screen Resolution, but the NVIDIA Control Panel instead. If you go to Display(left side) then change resolution, it may detect it as a Hanns and show 1440x900 (aka 720p) but you can click Customize, the setup the 1440x900 additional setting for it if it doesn't show.

I have tried using the nVidia control panel to create a custom resolution and it just creates borders and makes everything look small. Obviously incorrect. And it still hasn't been detected.

I downloaded some drivers: two files a .icc and .inf but I don't know how to install them.

What now?

"The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation"

EDIT: I was able to install by adding it to the list of system drivers. I think the fact that it was not digitally signed meant that Windows 7 didn't want to add it.

Could you explain your steps? I have seen this problem before.

Device Manager > Monitors > Right-click Generic Non-PnP > Update Driver Software > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Have Disk... button > Locate driver .inf file on computer.

That fixed the Generic Non-PnP Monitor.
